COUTURE - Food Halls

Currently we have a Food Hall on the Royal Arsenal in south east London, which opened in September 2007.
We think its a pretty special shop, its has a distinctive look & feel and real community sprit, it has a small cafe seating area. We have had lots of events at the store, wine tastings, food tastings and we are planning a many more...
As a rule, we also try to promote the best of British food as we believe that there is no reason to go abroad to find some of the world's best produce. We would rather sell lager brewed in Greenwich, brie from Somerset, cured meats from Cumbria, bread freshly baked in London, mineral water from North Wales and ice cream from Suffolk. Relying on British food also helps to cut down on 'food miles'.
We choose our suppliers very carefully, firstly to ensure that we only sell produce of the highest quality and secondly so that we promote small, independent companies whose ethos and values match our own.
For example, we are careful to purchase only free range chicken and eggs and we only buy meat which has been reared and killed humanely and, where possible, we will inform our customers of the farm of origin.
We plan to open more food halls but we are in no big hurry and want to find the right venues.... If you think you know the right site for us please let us know - e-mail jon@trulydifferent.com
